Today’s post is all about festivities. Speaking of festivities, I have been swamped with back to back celebrations this week. Today is my birthday so a huge hooray for me 🙂 . I’m a year older and fabulous, thank God. And if you’re curious about my age, just know that I’m 16+ years old and some, lol. As much as I feel like my birthday is a major event filled with glam and should be given a huge deal attention, I’m not going to be talking about it in this post. Rather, I’ll be sharing details about my eid celebration outfit. Yesterday was Eid al-Adha, one of the two Islamic holiday that commemorates the importance of sacrifice, and I celebrated Eid by eating, chilling and movie surfing with my family.
In addition to having a swell time yesterday, I couldn’t help but drape myself in glamour for Eid. Eid is a special celebration for me and my loved ones. I’ve learned to be excited for Eid and I look forward to celebrating yearly. I adore Eid not only because of the important values associated with the blessed days, but also the goodies I’ve come to associate with them. As a kid, my mom bought new clothes for me to celebrate Eid. The new clothes for eid trend didn’t stop at my childhood. I continued this dressing in new stuff practice into adulthood. But I opted to take a break from the new flow this year. I dug into my closet and pulled out a simple yet stunning dress that I got a while ago.
This Eid al-Adha, I wanted to look effortless chic without breaking the bank. I’m for reusing almost everything I own, from zip lock bags to shoes, but I struggle with recycling occasion dresses. I have a bad habit of wearing most of my ‘dressy’ dresses once and then shoving them in the ‘do not touch’ portion of my closet. Lately, I’ve been feeling inspired to save more money, which helped drive my passion to consider reusing a classic occasion dress. So I dolled up for Eid in a pastel pink Grecian dress that I wore to one of my cousin’s wedding a few years ago. This dress has an interesting balance of subtleness and sophistication. It pairs great with neutral and complementary vivid hues.
