Hana Tajima x Uniqlo released their spring summer 2018 collection in March and all I can say is that their clothes bring me so much delight 🙂 . Today’s post features a tunic piece from the only mainstream modest fashion collection I know. But before I delve in and share my thoughts on this piece, I’ll briefly provide my opinion on the SS 2018 collection. This year’s SS collection is vivid, sleek and interesting. They include loads of eye-catching prints, chic silhouettes and radiant colors. Furthermore, the collection consists of separates and dresses/jackets that cater to corporate, casual and dressy needs. Some of my favorite pieces include tunics, suits, coordinates and dresses.
As much I like this tunic, there are a few things that I felt Hana Tajima/Uniqlo could have improved on. In terms of the pros, I love the assortment of available tunic colors, prints and styles. The tunic colors are summery glam. The print tunics come in classic colors with subtle stripes. I particularly love the tuck tunic (featured in this post) so I decided to try it out to work. The tuck tunic is well-tailored and lightweight due to the linen fabric. On the other hand, the linen fabric causes the tunic to wrinkle very quickly. I’m also not a fan of the skinny belt attached to the back of the tunic. With the fierce vibe from the tunic cut and lines, I don’t think the belt enhances the tunic in any way.
I’ve included links (highlighted) to available outfit items below the first picture.
