I’m not big on the ‘try new things’ movement. As enticing as venturing into the unknown sounds, I don’t get what the hype is all about. To be honest, trying new things is especially tough for me. I typically find comfort with the ‘usuals’ 🙂 . Despite my love for the old or what I know, I occasionally make an effort to be somewhat adventurous. When it comes to fashion, I pretty much prefer to stick to the classics and ‘some’. And by some…I mean experimenting with a couple of intriguing seasonal runway trends by making them modest fashion appropriate. Surprisingly, I’ve mostly enjoyed and not regretted trying or embracing new things/experiences. One of my latest fashion explorations was trying the western trend.
Western allure has never really appealed to me until recently. Casual and mundane are the words that come to mind when I think about western style. I’ve noticed that western separates are typically matched with anything denim hence, they come off as informal. With western trends appearing on the spring 2018 runway, I still wasn’t accommodating the thought of trying it out. I came across a shirt (in this post) from Mango a few weeks ago that compelled me to consider western looks as more fashionable. What I love about this shirt is the pattern, color, pocket and collar accents. The shirt is embellished with a cute tie that gives off a more formal/fancy vibe. I paired the shirt with hot pink peg pants for a nice contrast and fashion-forward charm.

I’m a project manager by day and a fashionista/style enthusiast always. I have a diverse range of contradictory interests…fashion vs activism, ice cream cake vs spinach salad…but I love & proudly embrace them all.
