3 for 3…Yaayyyy!!! This is my third post and the continuation of the monthly suit series I kicked off in February (February and March posts). My favorite suit fusion theme for April is relaxed in loads of pastels. The typical way I imagine wearing suits is the common blazer and structured trouser duo. However, it’s easy to forget that suits are also styled as trios…blazers, pants and vests. Interestingly, the more pieces in a suit outfit, the more rigid the look. Fortunately, styling in suits doesn’t necessitate the presence of pants and blazers simultaneously. The neat thing about suitings is the flexibility that comes with styling. Using a buttoned-down shirt as a base, I can essentially be suited up in just blazers (and or vests) and trousers.
With spring in the air, I’ve been drawn to anything and everything appearing sweet. This week, I satisfied my sweet craving by opting to suit up heavily in pastels. I basically went for a color block theme that screamed PASTEL MUCH! The pastel look, which I absolutely love, was simply relaxed and swish. And since I wasn’t wearing jackets/vests, I chose to wear a well-sculpted high-waisted trouser (with darts) to highlight the suiting element in the outfit. I wore a light pink shirt with pale blue trousers and mint green scarf. What I wanted to play up after putting on this outfit was the simplicity it exudes. A cool way to take pastel looks to the next level, while maintaining the simple allure, is to wear neutral or pastel colored accessories.
I’ve included links (highlighted) to available outfit items below the first picture.
