Although the weather is not yet feeling quite like spring, my mind has resolved to kicking off spring style extravaganza. And what better way to welcome spring than to look conspicuous in florals. Not only do florals come in versatile and beautiful prints, they are also relatively easy to come by. Floral items of clothing don’t just evoke the popular cliche…of delicate aura. They exist in audacious/avant-garde forms and can be effective for making an entrance. Vivid floral dresses or separates typically require minimal effort to style if you’re big on dressing fabulous. And since I don’t shy away from dressing boss to work, I recommend bold florals as a styling option for professional ladies.
This week, I wanted to divert from my usual way of styling florals. Prior floral posts on my blog have one thing in common…I paired florals with distinct (bright or dark) colors. My fondness for wearing florals with bright or dark colors was more of a coincidence and less of a preference. And when I bought the floral dress in this post, I was tempted to pair it with a bright green lightweight coat. No doubt this dress is exceptionally bright (and striking) and I thought it would be refreshing to combine it with light neutral hues (like heather grey) for work. I finally settled on wearing the spunky floral dress with a grey faux leather jacket.
