Color Blocking with Knitwear

Knitwears are the standard dress code around this time of the year. They serve important functions including warmth, glam tool and comfort. Although knitwears don’t look as polished as leather and wool type clothing, they somehow manage to infuse some cuteness into any outfit. My reason for wearing knitwear has to do more with necessity and less about preference. But I can’t deny that majority of the knit items of clothing I’ve come by look charming in one way or the other. I also like the fact that knitwears come in a variety of fits, textures and colors.

With loads of sweater and cardigan options to choose from this season, an easy way to style knitwears is to leverage the POWER of COLOR. If you’re a regular visitor to my blog, you’ll know by now that I ADORE colors…A LOT! Color blocking is one styling technique I have come to rely upon on countless occasions and this week was no exception 😉 . I borrowed a page from the color wheel theory by wearing analogous (adjacent to each other on the wheel) colors. And this gal (me) sashayed to work in a blue-green sweater top and navy blue knit dress.

BTW…Zara, TopShop, HM and Mango have a wide selection of colorful knitwear.

I’ve included links (highlighted) to available outfit items below the first picture.
