Mirror Mirror – Victorian Collar

DISCLAIMER!!! This post is forward-looking and different from the usual so I’ll urge you to read it to the end ūüėČ .

Lately, I’ve been feeling eager to dress in fall trends. One of my favorite fashion trends from the fall 2017 runway shows is the Victorian/high collar. Last fall, I got a Victorian collar blouse (in this post) from Zara, which I styled to work this week. And since Victorian style exemplifies¬†British customs, I thought it would be great to showcase how the Brits put their¬†spin on styling Victorian collars. So today’s post will¬†be featuring pictures of how myself and the fierce (& lovely) London-based fashion blogger, Barbara Adeniken, wore the same Victorian collar blouse. Make sure you check out Barbara’s site (link) as she shared more ways to style this trend on her blog.

I’ve included links (highlighted) to available outfit items below the first picture.

Styling dark-colored separates is relatively easy. You can either brighten it up by wearing lighter colors. Or…

Amp up the dark intensity  by complementing it with black or other darker colors.

Victorian collars are great to style for work. They have a similar silhouette to turtle necks and exude a boss look.

Barbara’s look is absolutely striking and great for soirees or social events. The chic strapless dress over the blouse makes a glam night-time outfit.

Myself and Barbara coincidentally rocked bow inspired head pieces with this blouse. I went for a vintage inspired look by making a bow turban.

While Barbara went retro by highlighting her bangs with a bow tie scarf.
