Mirror Mirror – Blazer Dress

On my quest to find a unique dress for work sometime last month, I stumbled across a blazer dress (in this post) from Asos. So I decided to get it because blazer dresses are this summer’s reinvented style pieces and are versatile for professional or formal occasions. And just in case you didn’t know, I <3 <3 <3 new and refreshing edgy work wear. The awesome thing about this dress is that it is BLACK (so it practically goes with everything) and it sorts of remind me of a kimono (I’m also big on kimonos for casual looks).  I love the utility applique on the shoulders for adjusting the sleeves, which would also look great if I want to go for a more laid back style. And now for not so exciting news if you’ve started drooling over this dress. When I discovered this dress, they had just one left in my size…but I was able to find 3 other chic blazer dress options (links included below the first picture) that would style as nice as the one in this post.

I’ve included links (highlighted in red) to available outfit items in the pictures below.

As much as I love dressing in bright colors, black is and will always be my favorite and reliable color option.

Oh goodness!!! And now for the masterpiece…this print scarf is a classic style staple that I plan to feature a lot on my blog. I’m already thinking about wearing it with something red…;)

Another styling suggestion…For an edgy business casual outfit, I’d open up the dress to get a trench coat look.

The satin collar, sleeves and pocket detail makes this dress interesting and gives it some nice contrast especially if you decide to style it all black 😉

I’d love to know what you think about this blazer dress and your experience styling one or something similar in the comment section.
