Summer…here we go again!
As summer fast approaches, the one major concern that comes to the mind of professional modest queens is ‘how the hell am I supposed to cope with layers in this heat?’ Trust me when I say that I feel your pain ladies. I’m big on wearing coats/jackets and it can be though when wearing it makes you feel like you’re being baked in an oven. I love wearing jackets year round for three reasons. First of all, jackets are chic style staples for work. Secondly, they provide easy coverage and reduce self-consciousness i.e. that nagging feeling to constantly check and adjust your outfit. And lastly, jackets reduce the need for excessive layering. For instance, I can achieve a classic minimalist look with a sleeveless dress and long-line jacket.
This year, I set out on a mission to indulge my jacket fetish year round, particularly during the summer weather. And I am pleased to say that I’ve been fortunate to find a few comfortable trendy jacket options from Topshop and Zara.
I’ve included links (highlighted in red) to available outfit items in the pictures below.
The tie detail on the jacket sleeves gives an interesting spin to trench coats. Love it! This jacket is lightweight, stylish and summer friendly. It also comes in orange and black.
On a shorter note :), bell sleeves are popular this summer and I was able to find a striking (super lightweight) bell sleeve jacket at Zara for a steal. They pair great with dresses, fitted ankle length pants, flare pants and fitted skirts.
This red jacket pops remarkably and if you just want sleeves for your outfit, it has a nice bolero feel to it.
Finding these lightweight jackets have been a highlight of my spring/summer styling experience and I have a feeling that this is just the beginning…there will be more summer jackets to discover ;). I’m definitely looking forward to cloaking up fiercely in jackets all summer.
